Hate Crime in Claremore!

Oklahomans for Equality has been assisting Phillip Nelson a 24 year old Claremore man and Rogers State University student who has been a victim of several hate crimes. Fox 23 News aired the story on their Wednesday evening broadcast.

 

Phillip has endured harassment, physical assault and now vandalism to his apartment.

Under present Oklahoma law this is not classified as a hate crime. A recent Oklahoma senate bill SB 1965 will not allow Oklahoma law enforcement to comply with the Federal Department of Justice during an investigation of lgbt victims of violence.
