Solidarity Vigil


Oklahomans for Equality (OkEq) will host a Solidarity Vigil to reflect on the dialogue created by Representative Sally Kern in the past weeks.

Tuesday, March 18, 7pm, Dennis R. Neill Equality Center

Join us in honoring the support of our allies, hear words of comfort from local community leaders, and celebrate our diversity and oneness in a time of healing as we bridge to a journey of continued justice and equality for all Oklahomans.

Speakers:
  • Dr. Lana Turner-Addison, Director for the City of Tulsa Human Rights Department
Dr. Turner-Addison is responsible for ensuring that Title 5 of the City of Tulsa Revised Ordinances is upheld. The Human Rights Department receives and investigates complaints of discrimination in the areas of employment, housing, and public accommodations.
  • Jeremy Elliott, Intern Minister at All Souls Unitarian Church
Elliott holds advanced degrees from Case Western Reserve University and Starr King School for the ministry. In 2003 he was the youngest openly gay political candidate in the United States.
  • Rev. Chaz Gaut, OkEq Board Member (Moderator)
Serving on the OkEq Board of Directors and as Chair of the Marketing and PR Committee, Gaut is an ordained inter-faith minister, hospice chaplain, published author, and inspirational speaker who addresses audiences with spirited messages of hope and healing.
