Daily Programs

Deaf Spectrum
The Videophone is housed on the second level of the Equality Center and has it’s own space and is available for the Deaf to make their free video relay calls. This program provides support, education and social opportunities for deaf LGBT individuals, supportive allies and their loved ones. (The resource office for the deaf and hard of hearing is open daily from 3 pm to 9 pm)

David Bohnett Cyber Center
The Cyber Center is housed on the second level of the Equality Center with nine spaces for individuals to research, connect, and learn. Printing is allowed for only $0.10 per page to cover costs. This program provides support, education and social opportunities for all people. The Cyber Center is generally open daily from 3 pm to 9 pm, but occasionally this area may be used for computer classes.

Nancy and Joe McDonald Rainbow Library
The Library houses a collection of books, videos and DVDs. The community may check out items from the collection during normal operating hours of the Equality Center. Additionally the Library occasionally is used a meeting room for clubs or programs such as the Book Club. The Library housed on the second level of the Equality Center provides educational and social opportunities for people interested in LGBT literature.

Meet at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center and head to the Biking and Walking path a block from the Center. Path follows Centennial Park walking routs and connects with River Parks for more experienced long distance walkers.

Spectrum Knits
6:30 – 8:30 1st and 3rd Mondays
Free
Bringing knitters from across the spectrum together. From young to mature, gay and straight and all of those in between, beginners to advanced come together to knit and get to know each other. Instructions for beginners. Sara Fitzgerald facilitator

Grieving Well
6:00 – 7:30 2nd and 4th Mondays
Free
Bereavement Support Program for LGBT individuals who have lost a partner or loved one to death.

Tuesday

S.A.G.E

SAGE is a day time programming for those who are retired or free during the day.
The OkEq SAGE chapter (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders) is a national program geared toward individuals over 50. Each Tuesday the Center will open at 10 am for Coffee and Bagels followed by a computer class taught by Don Satterthwaite at 11:00 am in the Cyber Center. Lunch will be provided at noon for a donation. At 1 pm a book study on classical gay authors such Edward Albee, Oscar Wilde, James Baldwin, Armistead Maupin

Canasta

H.O.P.E. HIV TESTING
6:00  – 8:00 Every Tuesday
Free
H.O.P.E. (Health Outreach, Prevention and Education) Testing Clinic provides free HIV testing at the Equality Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 PM and Saturdays from 4:00-7:00 PM.  Syphilis tests are also available on the first Tuesday of the month from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Volleyball

Coming Out Workshop
7:00 – 8:00 Every Tuesday
Free to participate, you must have an assessment interview to attend the session.  This course is designed for individuals coming to terms with their sexuality with presentations on how to come out to family, friends, and coworkers.  Question and answer sessions in a supportive and informed environment.

Instructor Cody Francisco with the Department of Rehabilitation Services will be teaching an 8 week course on the basics of American Sign Language beginning January 19th and finishing March 16th.

Gender Outreach

Dance instructor Boyd Dodson will be leading the Country and Western two stepping class. Participants will learn to Trolly, which is a two-step dance with each partner dancing side by side  going in the same direction and the Basic Two-Step which is one partner going forward and the other partner going backward. The Waltz class will begin in mid-February.

Instructor Leo De Andrade will help you learn the true meaning of Yoga. To “yoke”, the body, mind and spirit through breath and meditation. Practicing yoga will
