The Artist Reception is Thursday, August 5, at 6:00p.m. with Karin Cermak at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center located at 621 E. 4th Street Tulsa OK 74120
Media: Painting in Oil, Acrylic, Mixed Media and Charcoal
Karin is originally from Germany. She lived in Czechoslovakia and later in Canada. She is a naturalized American citizen and the U.S.A. has become her final home. She worked as a mechanical engineer designing plumbing and air conditioning for almost 30 years. After moving to the U.S.A. in 1990 she has been pursuing her career as an artist.
Karin has been active for many years in the Muskogee and Tulsa art communities. She is a member and supports Muskogee Art Guild, Tulsa Artists Guild, Tulsa Art Coalition, Oklahoma Visual Art Coalition and Tulsa Civic Art Association Alpha Rho Tau.
Her artwork is on display at the Muskogee Armstrong Bank, the Muskogee Newspaper Phoenix, the Muskogee Civic Center and Acme Engineering & Manufacturing Company.
She designed and painted banners for annual Azalea Festivals organized by Muskogee Parks & Recreation for many years.
Karin designed logo for a Muskogee fundraising organization “Women Who Care” supporting breast cancer patients.
She donated her paintings for a fund raising show “Greater ASSets Art” organized by the Colon Cancer Coalition as the colon cancer awareness. Each year Karin supports Tulsa Art Coalition by donating paintings for “Miniature Painting 5x5 Show”.
Her work has been exhibited in many galleries in Oklahoma, including Philbrook Museum, Living Arts, AHHA, Historical Museum, TAC Gallery, Price Tower Gallery in Bartlesville, and many more galleries organized by the art organizations she is a member of.
She has received numerous awards for her artworks in oil, acrylic, charcoal and 3D mixed media.
Over the years Karin has moved from strictly traditional realistic painting to contemporary and abstract painting
